16-19 Tuition Fund
The 16 to 19 tuition fund 2023 to 2024 academic year
In line with the Government guidance, this statement outlines how schools within Olympus Post 16 will utilise the 16-19 Tuition Fund in the 2023/2024 academic year. This additional fund is for the academic year 2023/2024 only and is to be used to mitigate the disruption of learning arising from coronavirus (COVID-19).
In line with Government guidance we will prioritise 16-19 year old students who have not achieved a Grade 4 or 5 in either GCSE Maths or GCSE English.
What types of support will we provide?
The types of support outlined below will be provided through a 1-2-1 or small group intervention.
- Academic skill development – focused on the development and refreshing of study skills so that students can more effectively engage with the curriculum content
- Maths and/or English – targeted intervention to support students to fill gaps in their knowledge, practise their skills and reinforce learning from the curriculum
- Pastoral support – specific pastoral that addresses personal barriers to learning and equips students with strategies to better engage with their learning
How will we record and monitor use of the fund?
Existing systems will be used to track the usage of the fund and the impact of the support on students. We will closely monitor this ‘tuition fund’ cohort to determine the effectiveness of the support and modify support as required.
