Thursday 25 August 2022 Olympus Academy Trust GCSE Results 2022 including individual School reports Despite the most challenging preparation time any cohort of students has ever had to cope with, Year 11 students in all our Olympus secondary settings have been rewarded for their resilience with success in their GCSEs. We knew that results nationally this year would be between 2021 (when grades were based on assessment done directly by schools) and 2019, which was the last year exams took place. We are thrilled that many students exceeded expectations and have achieved the grades they need for their next steps, whether that be post 16 courses or training and apprenticeships.

Friday 24 June 2022 Primary Olympics Event Year 5 and Year 6 students from all the Trust Primary schools attended an amazing sports event at SGS today. The rain held off and we all had a great day getting to know each other and competing in track and field events. Congratulations to the overall winners which were Callicroft Primary Academy. Well done to everyone who attended and took part and also to the parents and carers who attended to support. A big thanks must go to the Year 12 PE students from BSCS who were invaluable on the day and to Mrs Young and her team who organised the event.

Monday 20 June 2022 Winterbourne Academy is officially a 'Good' school Following an Ofsted Inspection on 10th and 11th May 2022, Mr Jason Beardmore, Headteacher of Winterbourne Academy, and Mr Dave Baker, CEO of the Olympus Academy Trust are delighted to report that Ofsted has judged Winterbourne Academy to be a Good school.

Sunday 22 May 2022 ECO Day 2022 Saturday 21 May 2022 was Eco Day for all our Primary schools. Teachers, parents, learners and lots of family members came together to tidy up our school environments. Lots of chopping, trimming, weeding, litter picking and painting was done with a fantastic atmosphere everywhere. Some hosted barbeques or pizza making and plenty of refreshments were on offer. A special mention goes to the lovely Dad at Charborough Road who fell into the newly unearthed very stagnant and smelly pond!

Sunday 22 May 2022 Big Breakfast at Patchway Community School New Y7 starters for September 2022 and their families were all invited to a Big Breakfast yesterday. What an amazing event – it was so lovely to meet such lovely, excited learners and their families. Everyone enjoyed a delicious breakfast with tea, coffee or fruit juice. There were welcome talks in the Library hosted by Mr Baker, CEO of the Olympus Academy Trust and Mr Howe, Headteacher. Students also enjoyed activities in the hall including fruit kebab making, bunting creation, looking at various items under the microscope, to name but a few. It was lovely to see new learners meeting with their future teachers and support staff.

Sunday 15 May 2022 Leadership Changes We are facing significant changes in leadership within our Olympus secondary settings this summer due to departures, promotions and delayed opening dates. Having recently conducted a recruitment process for the Lyde Green Headteacher post, we know that we have strong senior leadership talent within the Trust and we also know that it is generally difficult to attract strong external candidates for headship posts across the country at present. One of the benefits of a multi-academy trust is the ability to appoint people to different settings, knowing that it should have a greater chance of success than an external appointment as there is already so much knowledge about the way the Trust works and an alignment with our shared values. One of our responsibilities as Trust leaders is to provide opportunities for growth and development for our staff.

Friday 6 May 2022 The Luke Wheaton Legacy Trust Luke Wheaton was a student at Bradley Stoke Community School. After his tragic passing in December 2020 at only 16 years old a trust was set up in his name. The Luke Wheaton Legacy Trust is made up of trustees from Members of Luke’s family, Bradley Stoke Community School (Luke’s former school), North Bristol Rugby Club (Luke’s rugby club), Stoke Lane Football Club and Bradley Stoke Youth (both current and former football clubs of Luke).
