Abbeywood Community School Post 16 Students Achieve Outstanding Results and Secure Places at Top Universities and Apprenticeships

Abbeywood Community School proudly announces the exceptional achievements of its Post 16 students in the summer 2025 A level and vocational results. The students’ hard work has earned them places at prestigious Russell Group universities and competitive apprenticeships with leading employers such as Babcock, GKN, Rolls Royce and Airbus. 

Headteacher, Ben Dilley, expressed his pride in the students’ achievements: “We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements this year. Their dedication and perseverance have truly paid off, and these results reflect not only academic success but also the personal growth and resilience they have demonstrated. This is further testament to a successful year at Abbeywood with a really positive OFSTED report further validated by this set of results for our students. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our students and thank our staff and families for their ambitious support. We look forward to seeing our students thrive as they take the next steps in their education and careers.” 

Director of Post 16, Rich Williams, was delighted with the results: “We celebrate the incredible achievements of our students, whose hard work and determination have led to well-deserved success, and high-quality Post 18 destinations. It is a real pleasure to see such a diverse range of degree pathways across many universities, reflecting the ambition and individuality of each student. We are also thrilled that a number of our students will be moving onto ambitious and challenging advanced apprenticeships with leading companies in Engineering.”

  • Thomas To - Mathematics A*, Further Mathematics A*, Physics A*, Chemistry A going to study Mathematics and Physics at University of Bristol
  • William Fitzhugh - Mathematics A*, Biology A*, Physics A going to study Biomedicine at Lancaster University
  • Ernest Hui - Mathematics A*, Further Mathematics B, Chemistry B, Physics B going on to study Chemical Engineering
  • Adrian Kurtys - Engineering D*, Mathematics A, Design & Technology B going to study Aerospace Engineering at University of the West of England
  • Finley Smith - Engineering D*, Mathematics A, Physics B, Chemistry B
  • Natalie Tai - Psychology A, Biology A, Chemistry B, Mathematics B going to study Veterinary Science at University of Bristol
  • Spencer Corbett - Engineering D*D, Design & Technology B

 

  

 

Abbeywood Community School is recognised for its inclusive approach to education, offering a broad curriculum that supports academic excellence and vocational pathways.  Its sixth form provides students with opportunities to develop skills and experiences that prepare them for higher education and employment.  Accordingly, we recognise the achievements of others, in particular: Nisha Badman (A grade in Photography), Maisie Wilson (A* in Criminology), Lola Willcox (D* in Applied Science), and Annabel Harman (A* in Photography and D* in Business Studies).

In addition to academic success, Abbeywood Community School emphasises student well-being and personal development. The school’s strong pastoral care and support services have played a vital role in helping students thrive in a nurturing environment, preparing them to contribute meaningfully to both local and global communities.
