GCSE results 2025 from Winterbourne Academy
Students at Winterbourne Academy achieved a fantastic set of GCSE results this year, with 28% of grades achieved at grade 7 or above, 59% achieving a grade 5 or above in English and Maths and 74% achieving a grade 4 or above in English and Maths. Some subject highlights included 29% grade 9s in Physics, 56% grade 7 and above in Art and Music, 46% and 44% grade 7 and above in Spanish and French respectively, 40% with Distinction or above in BTEC Sport, 81% grade 4 and above in Maths and 80% achieving a grade 4 or above in English.
Headteacher Jenny Cartwright said: “These are some of the best academic results Winterbourne has seen, with students of all abilities making great progress since their arrival with us. There are so many individual stories of success, including those where students have had significant challenges, and I am so proud of what they have achieved. Their teachers have offered great support, which I know so many students are very grateful for, and students have dedicated themselves to achieving their best. For this year group, their very good attendance stood out and has made all the difference to their wonderful grades.”
The highest individual achievement was an outstanding set of 11 grade 9s and 1 grade 8, with several other students also securing the highest possible grades, including:

Tom Dickson: 5 grade 9s, 5 grade 8s and 1 grade 7
Annabel Gordon: 7 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s and a Distinction*
Noah Gurtubay: 3 grade 9s, 1 grade 8, 2 grade 7s and a Distinction
Lilia Killourhey: 8 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s and a grade 7
Jacob Maxfield: 6 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and a grade 7
Katy Melvin: 3 grade 9s, 7 grade 8s and a grade 7
Athena Mok: 4 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s, 3 grade 7s
Jacob Paraskeva: 5 grade 9s, 5 grade 8s and a Distinction
